When you first purchase your Xbox 360 console, everything you require it included in the package, such as, a controller, cables, and etcetera. Of course this means you can go right ahead and start gaming without any delays. Of course, if you were fortunate enough to purchase the Xbox 360 Elite, then you were no doubt even more thrilled because it would have come with a few extras, such as some great games. All you needed was a TV, and of course, if you have an HDTV then your gaining experience will be that much more pleasurable.
If you’re serious about taking your gaming experience to the next level then you need to realize that a TV is not the only extra you will need. As you may well already know there are numerous accessories available for the Xbox 360. While some have been specifically designed to improve the gaming experience, others have been designed for improving and expanding the capabilities of the Xbox 360 in general. Of course, because some of these accessories are manufactured by third party companies, not all of them live up to the claims made by the manufacturers. If you’re serious about your gaming, then you may want to try some of the accessories mentioned below.
Irrespective of what edition you purchased, the Xbox 360 only comes with one wireless controller. As such, if you’re into competitive gaming while using a single system, you’ll need to purchase additional controllers which can be wired or wireless, depending on your personal preferences. Remember though that the Xbox 360 can only accommodate a maximum of four controllers.
Not only are the original black or white controllers a much higher quality than those which have been manufactured by third party companies, but you’re also guaranteed that they’ll be compatible with all computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system.
While the controller can fully operate the interface of the Xbox 360, you can make things a bit easier if you get the universal media remote. This is a great accessory to get if you frequently use the Xbox 360 as a digital media system. In addition, the remote can operate several TVs and computers that are powered by Windows Media Center. It even has the standard gaming buttons so you can actually play games with it.
Because so many people use their Xbox 360 for playing online and a large percentage of these people enjoy chatting, Microsoft released the Xbox 360 Messenger kit alongside Windows Live Messenger. A feature known as “Chatpad” is included in the kit and its ideal for quick messaging and also for those who lack a USB keyboard.
In order to allow for voice chat during game play, the kit includes a wired headset which connects to the Chatpad. Interestingly enough, this will also allow you to take advantage of certain games which have voice recognition built in. Of course, if you feel you don’t need the Chatbox, then there is also a wireless headset available.
Over and above the accessories mentioned in this article, there are many others available via the Xbox 360 website. For your own sake, only purchase accessories which are genuine, and which are licensed by Microsoft.
